"Throughout my school career I have had an extensive involvement in my community through numerous organizations performing service for those in need,” explained Ludwick in his application. “To say it has been a very meaningful and rewarding experience is an understatement. It has been through those hours and hours of service to others that have given me insight into my fellow man and the differences in circumstances that make each of us the same, yet unique. My goal is to make a difference in people’s lives whose path I cross throughout my journey of college and my career. Lending a helping hand to those in need and contributing unselfishly for the benefit of others is what really matters."
Haberl was named the winner of the scholarship awarded to a family member of an Infinisource employee. . He is the son of Tim and Pam Haberl of Quincy and nephew of Gary Hart, President/CEO at Infinisource. He plans on attending the University of Michigan in the fall.
Haberl was the Vice President of his senior class this year. He has accomplished much throughout his time at Quincy High School including third place in the Tri State Math Competition his senior year along with 3.5 GPA Honor Roll, Student Council, Youth in Government, Quiz Bowl, track and field and the Drama Society. His honors and achievements include excellence in Geometry, outstanding achievement in Social Studies, outstanding achievement in US History, outstanding achievement in Algebra II, achievement in Honors Composition, excellence in Pre-Calculus, outstanding achievement in Figures, Statistics, and Trigonometry and academic excellence in Advanced Chemistry. His community involvement consists of ushering for Tibbits productions, Knights of Columbus pancake breakfasts, working for AYSO coaches, cleaning Tip Up Island and planting and gardening around the Quincy High School.
"Every person is important and special in their own right and helping individuals should be the basis for any life," Haberl wrote in his application. “My dad is Tim Hart. I have watched him work harder than any individual to help those around him. For example, he has worked hard for nearly a decade at developing the AYSO soccer program in Branch County. I have seen my dad return home weary from board meetings and practices he coaches … Yet, then on those same Saturdays, I saw excited children, bright-eyed and ready to play the game … After seeing these families have fun on a Saturday morning, I knew exactly why my dad works as hard as he does. Helping people truly is the right thing to do. Due to this, I have taken my dad as a role model and I know that money is only a means to an end, not an end itself.”
"I'm very proud of the fact we’ve been able to award these scholarships," said Gary Hart, Infinisource President and CEO. "Our work as a nationally-recognized company is challenging and rewarding. But the ability to do that from a hometown base like Coldwater is priceless. The combination works because the community supports us. We wanted to give some of that success back."
